Naomi ShtilMan, MA, PH.D. Student
I originally immigrated from the United Kingdom to the United States. I received my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute in 2015 and am currently working towards my Ph.D. in Integral & Transpersonal Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
I trained and specialized in LGBTQ therapy while working at Queer Life Space in San Francisco, then moved north to Portland to take a position as an Intensive Community Treatment Therapist serving LGBTQ youth. During this time I was able to take clients indoor rock climbing and began combining physical meditative movement with psychotherapy.
The success of Climbing Psychotherapy has propelled me to study further, I will research through an Integral and Transpersonal Psychology Ph.D. program the neuroscience behind the shifts in consciousness that occur while climbing, and how they impact brain function and overall wellbeing.
